The Dirt Road JunkFest Family

At Shankland Ranch everyone is family! We have learned in life that family doesn't just mean those who you are blood related to, but those who you enjoy being around and making memories with.

The Shanklands, Pat and Carol moved to Valley Falls area in 1990. They began raising buffalo and were in the buffalo business for over 20 years. They both then retired from the United States Postal Service in 2011 and sold the buffalo. Since 2011 they have spend time traveling and spending time with family. They are not strangers to holding big events with their large family. They are also big supporters of the Fallen Outdoors and getting children in the outdoors.

Cody and Rowena Shankland live on the ranch with their two children, Caden and Helena. Both Cody and Rowena work for the US Postal Service in Topeka. Cody grew up in Valley Falls, Rowena grew up in England and became a proud US citizen in 2012. They spend their spare time with family, hosting small events and working with organizations that help promote outdoor events for military members and youth.

Jim and Brandi Varner live in Valley Falls with their two children, Brigg and Kinzie. Jim works full time as a deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and Brandi has worked for BNSF Railway since 2010. Our favorite thing to do together as a family is to travel, whether on a Caribbean cruise or a road trip to a small town, we love spending time together and creating lifelong memories.
